An authentic caro handwoven scarf takes many days to create.
Our artisans in Ladakh use various skills to process raw materials and produce regionally distinctive dyes, weaves and embroideries. They have a profound knowledge of the traditional techniques and understanding of our design and quality requirements.
Each scarf is created by hand and requires an accurate and intense process from start to finish: collecting and sifting the goats’ hair, spinning, dyeing and weaving the yarn, clipping the fabric’s loose ends and threads and final washing. Our craftsmen use azo-free dyes and herbal soaps.
The making of a caro scarf is finalised in our atelier in Delhi, where the product is finished with handcrafted design details under the supervision of our Creative Director.
